PRESIDENTS’ MESSAGE: We are still flying high from our adventure at the Air Station. Thank you to Sue Currie for her most informative talk on her work as a Flight Simulator Technician. Her path to that position is a model for any woman pursuing a career in a technology field. Thank you as well to Ron Ochse, Site Manager, AH1W/CH53E Flight Simulators. Ron’s patience with us – novices in the extreme – was limitless.

Our program this month is entitled “Protecting Personal Information/Online Fraud”. We will meet at the Marine Federal Credit Union building on Western Blvd. Extension at 6:30 p.m., Monday, February 26.

While we are a month away from forming our branch nominating committee, please be thinking about serving your branch in one of the elected positions. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if people jumped up and said, “I would like to do that!”

Connie and Evelyn

SCHOOL SUPPLIES PROJECT: Judy reports that school supplies donations have been slim. Please bring your supplies to the February meeting at Marine Federal Credit Union. Before we know it, the school year will be over.

CCCC FUNDRAISER: Every year we donate $250 to Coastal Carolina Community College for the AAUW/Jacksonville Regional Branch Scholarship. The fundraiser for this scholarship is April 30 and will be a departure for us. Charlene Shearer of Tastefully Simple is going to wow us with simple, tastey fare that you can prepare easily in your home with a few ingredients. We will open this event to guests, and anyone who cannot attend is welcome to place their order for these scrumptious ingredients through one of our members. Please mark your calendar now.
