The Twin Rivers Branch made New Bern aware of its early 20th century women leaders during March 2007. The area was focusing programs on the book The Great Gatsby and the branch tied in Women’s History month to this program. Four members researched and others helped to created a display about seven of New Bern’s women leaders during this period. The display is located at the New Bern/Craven County Public Library. One of the women featured was instrumental in starting the public library in New Bern.
