AAUW Raleigh/Wake County will host an author’s brunch on Saturday, March 8, at Peace College. The featured author is Sarah Shaber, a mystery writer who lives in Raleigh. She has published several mystery novels with Professor Simon Shaw as her sleuth. Her books are set in Raleigh, and local readers will recognize many of the landmarks.
The Winter issue of the AAUW NC newsletter, the Tar Heel News, has gone to press. This is a limited edition that will be mailed to branch and state leaders, but all are welcome to the electronic copy.
This issue has important information on the 2008 convention, notes on national priorities and how the states/branches can help further those goals, and more.
Pat from FairerScience.Org will be on a panel at the second annual Science Blogging Conference, here in RTP on Jan. 19.
For more on the conference see www.scienceblogging.com — and while you’re there contemplate what an AAUW meeting would look like if run as an “un-conferenceâ€.
