Greetings! Convention was a huge hit! I heard lots of positive comments from the attendees. The ladies in New Bern did a wonderful job with the accommodations, the goodie bags, the table decorations and all of the other preparations. Thanks also to each of you for your contributions to the success of the event. I would like to specifically acknowledge Katharyn Thayer, our Convention Treasurer, for the excellent job that she did. She received registration forms and funds both electronically and by mail.

At the banquet Saturday night, the basket raffle was very successful. Our “Patriotic” themed basket was the first one given away. Virginia Palmer of Statesville held the winning ticket. Several of our members were also lucky winners: Evelyn Lynge, Judy Martin, Anita Potts, Darlene Perry and Amy Mitchell.

We have two big branch events coming up – our annual Book and Yard Sale and our installation dinner. The profits from our yard sale fund our scholarship at Coastal Carolina. It is only a few weeks away, so continue to gather “treasures” from your friends and neighbors!
