Programs Director, Kathy Pearre, is happy to announce a new series – EmpowerHer Tuesdays. The programs will be presented on the fourth Tuesday of October, January, February, and April and will feature speakers offering insights on current topics of importance to women and their friends. There is no charge for the series. Each program will be on Zoom from 7-8 pm.EmpowerHer Tuesdays will offer participants the opportunity to obtain deeper understanding of vital issues and gain ideas about advocating for matters impacting our communities and our wider society. Community Action Grants – Timeline
AAUW Community Action Grants seek to dismantle barriers to girls’ participation in STEM and create a pipeline of diverse talent in these fields. Community Action Grants fund innovative, community-based programs that create pathways for K-12 girls to develop STEM confidence, skills, and identity — encouraging them to pursue STEM higher education and careers. Branch and State Affiliate Community Action Grants: Empowering Our Branches and States to Lead in STEM
AAUW branches and states are uniquely positioned to catalyze change in local communities. Their connections, knowledge, and passion make them powerful advocates for girls in STEM. That’s why AAUW National is offering dedicated funding of up to $10,000 to support branches and states in implementing innovative STEM programming for girls in grades K–12. Grants are awarded on a competitive basis. Applications are reviewed as submitted, and it is the sole responsibility of applicants to confirm that all materials are accurate and complete prior to submission. Incomplete applications will be considered at the discretion of AAUW.
